Welcome to my new blog! I’m very excited to launch this new website in preparation to gain followers who might be interested in the story I am attempting to write about our family’s journey over the past 15 years. Our family has been learning tough life lessons since my husband, David, was severely burned in an explosion at work. Unexpected tragedy turns your comfortable little world completely upside down. We were instantly thrown into a battlefield. Not only a battle for David’s life, but a battle for our entire family to learn how to survive. We’ve had to learn ways to cope. We’ve had to make difficult choices. We’ve been in a place where it’s felt like we’d lost everything. We lost our safety net; our sense that life was always good; and the sense that we were in control of our world. I lost the ability to protect our children from the very real possibility that their Daddy would not live through his injuries.
Going into battle is never easy. It demands preparation and soldiers need to be equipped with the necessary tools in order to fight effectively. Our family has learned to depend on God for strength to get through the difficult days. We’ve learned to survive by relying on prayer. We’ve tried to keep a positive attitude about the crazy, difficult situations that have come our way. We believe that humor can help us heal and to not take life too seriously. Over the years we’ve made the conscious effort to choose to be joyful in all our circumstances. We’ve grown together because of this tragedy. We’ve been reminded over and over again that God is in control ~ not us! And we’ve learned that even in the midst of struggles, we have a mighty, loving God who wants to hold us up and comfort us on the battlefields of life.
Please come along side me while I venture on a journey to share our family’s story with others. It’s my desire to share our story so others who might be in the middle of a trial can find encouragement and practical tools to face their battles one day at a time. Please subscribe to my blog posts and share it with your friends and family members. Continue to check back here for more! You can visit me at my facebook page too… Carly D. Bowers, Writer

We love and thank you! You have been a strong support over the years.
We need continued prayers that doubts and negative thoughts won’t creep into our minds while we wait to find out more of a prognosis. Keep those prayers coming!
