You will notice that today’s post is of a different breed than my typical posts. Usually, our blog is dedicated to encouragement through life’s challenges, but today I want to offer you a different kind of encouragement—in my opinion, the best kind. Today I want to share with you some of our favorite recipes for dessert.
Throughout our journey, David and I have found both healing and joy in serving others. For so long after David’s accident, we were the ones being served by people we love, and what that did for us is priceless. So when we got to the point that we were able to give back and serve others, it simply just felt right.
There are many ways to serve, but one of our favorite ways is through food. David and I have always enjoyed being in the kitchen together, and our newfound love of Pinterest has allowed us to broaden our horizons. One of our more recent ventures came in the form of little mason jars. We served these cute desserts at an event for our church, and they turned out to be not only delicious and fun, but also a great way to provide dessert for a crowd. I know I find it really helpful when other people share their recipes with me, so without further ado, here are our four favorite dessert-in-a-jar recipes:
I hope you get the chance to try these recipes, and that they offer you the opportunity to bless the people around you. Sometimes we get overwhelmed thinking that serving others has to come in the form of extravagant deeds, when in reality, that service often comes in the form of little mason jars.
