The scriptures are clear: God hears the cries of his people.
Sometimes, our prayers are answered in the way we had hoped for.
At other times, God tells us “no,” or simply “not yet.”
Last November, our family learned that David’s dad, Keith, was facing another battle with cancer. Doctors found two tumors in his throat and he underwent intense radiation treatments and chemo pills for several weeks.
Last Friday, Keith went back for scans and then met with his doctor to go over the results. We all peppered God with prayer and anxiously waited to hear what the scans showed.
I’m thrilled to report that the doctor is a bit astonished.
The tumors are not visible on the scans anymore. While, the doctors are very hesitant to say that Keith is “cancer-free,” they are amazed that the treatments were so successful. This is wonderful news, because Keith wasn’t given a very good prognosis at the beginning of this journey.
On Saturday evening, we were able to gather together with David’s immediate family members to celebrate Keith’s birthday and to celebrate our answered prayers. The atmosphere was light and full of laughter.
We continue to pray for Keith to gain strength and stamina and for his vocal cords to begin to work better again. We’d like to ask for your continued prayers as well. Our family believes in the power of prayer. We’re truly grateful that this time our prayers were answered in the manner we had hoped.
Share about a time God heard your cries recently.
